I'm currently at my Grandpa's concert (Bernie on Broadway) at a retirement community. I'm the youngest person by 60 years. Well, that's not true, he has a woman playing the violin with him who's in her 30s, but besides her...
Apparently a giant ash cloud from Iceland has shut down airports across the UK. Wow. Really glad I flew out Monday and that I'm not flying back through Iceland again.

And here are some updates:

Yesterday:
-morning walk
-two thrifts stores, first, eh, second AMAZING, I got some ridiculously cute clothes including a dress that will probably be my new fav.
-McDonald's for lunch
-Reading economics by the pool. FUN
-Barnes and Nobles
- Lots of Bill Bryson reading

Today:
-Morning walk
-Lunch at my great Aunts
-WORK (we'll see)
-One of my grandpa's concerts

My parents arrive with TAYLO tomorrow! WOO

Wednesday, 14 April 2010

Issues:

-I have accomplished very little since arriving. Damn you vacation mind!
-My stomach is worringly bloated to the point where it's probably just fat, not bloat.
-I have SO SO SO SO SOO SO SO SO much to do and I just want to read my Bill Bryson book in the sun.
- I've eaten at McDonalds twice since arriving.
I love Michael K, aka Dlisted's writer. I love everything he writes. But I really love this post he wrote about Matthew Fox, who apparently lost his v-card by a river when he was 12. Pervy/ wrong. The last paragraph is amazing and this computer won't let me paste it. ughh

OKAY THRIFT STORE TIME

Tuesday, 13 April 2010

1- I love Desmond.
2- I miss the real John Locke.
3- I don't know what I'll do without LOST.

My Night

Out to dinner with 6 seniors. On my left was an old man who didn't stop talking the entire time. Though he did tell me that I have a very clear voice and should work in broadcasting. hahaha. And on my right was a group of old women who kept talking about the end of the world due to global warming. FUNNNNNN. Though the food was delish. Yum cheap pizza.

screwed

Ughhh this research design paper is too hard. I only have one easy section to complete, but I need to fix the entire rest of the essay. Like, I think I made up a regression model. And there are sample essays online, but they're of a quality I can only dream of reaching.

I probably should be working on it now... but... eh.

Today I enjoyed a dunkin' donuts iced coffee and went for a walk on a boardwalk through marshlands. I also made an England slideshow and started reading a fabulous Bill Bryson book about American English. And I talked to Shelly on the phone. So I WAS productive. Not.

tired

Well my grandpa apparently has upgraded to high quality super fast internet, so now I can blog!

Since I've been up until 550 and can't locate any coffee in this house, here's an update in the form of a list:

-I woke up at 6 yesterday and rewarded myself with a delicious Eat. breakfast sandwich once I got through security.
-My almost 10 hour flight was actually really enjoyable. I didn't sit next to anyone and though there were no good movies on the personal players, I did watch some quality tv. Including Wallander, that British version of a Swedish show staring Kenneth Branagh. Who I'm oddly attracted to even though he's my dad's age and overweight. PERVY. I also ACTUALLY got work done woooo!
- But then I left my newish Coast blazer on the plane. FAIL. I called it into lost and found but we'll see.
- There was a hugggeee rainstorm when I arrived in Miami and I was like, you have GOT to be kidding me.
-My grandpa took me to McDonalds on the way back and I got one of their delicious iced coffees.
- I went to bed at 9 last night and it was a struggle staying up that late. Tonight I'm aiming for 10.
- My goal today is to finish my research design paper, aka the hardest paper I've ever had to write. We'll see if that actually happens. A lot depends on me finding/procurring coffee.
